Oct 7 I heard that last night's moonrise was gorgeous & I was determined to see it tonight, so I headed over to South Portland around 6:15 & waited. Just when I started to think I may be too early the moon appeared over the top of the islands. I grabbed my paints, a big blanket & scurried out to a bench near the lighthouse. SO BEAUTIFUL! I had a few minutes of light & then it got pretty dark--I have never really painted in the dark before & wasn't sure how my colors were mixing ... it finally got too dark & I headed back to the studio to finish up. Watching this evening's moonrise was so peaceful and magical for me. SOLD
