Sept 21 Yesterday we met a friend for breakfast & he had just come from the market in Monument Square & he handed me the most gorgeous "bouquet" of carrots. I had never been given a "bouquet" of carrots before & as the day went on, I wondered why ... I thought he was brilliant for sharing the beauty of farm fresh produce with us. They were so pretty ... I had already completed yesterday's paintings when he gave them to me so I saved them for today. This morning I took them up to my studio & set them up on a low table & then went back down for my coffee ... well, when I returned I found my vegetable loving basset hound with his sniffer all over them.
