January 2008
Jan 23 I drive down Deering St. towards the Eastland Park Hotel at least 5 times a week & last night, the mood in the air was wild. The moon poked through the clouds & hovered over the hotel creating a mysterious scene, and it made me feel like I was back in the 1920s. It's hard to explain, really, but it was so unusual! When I got home I checked my e-mail & a friend had told me the January full moon is called the Wolf Moon ... so here we have the Wolf Moon. Here's the excerpt from MaineToday.com:
"According to the Farmers' Almanac, every full moon has a name, bestowed upon it by Native Americans of the northern and eastern areas of the country. It was how they kept track of the seasons, the almanac tells us." COOL!
