May 11 Poetic Painting by Lillian Jane Elizabeth & her friends, Out sitting on the walk, Enjoying the bright Spring morn, And chatting while they work. Two of them are painting, The other soaking up the sun. With gentle humor and quiet ways, They're having lots of fun. The sunlight is so perfect. It brings out each detail, Which they capture on their triptych, Each brick, fence post and rail. There is, alas, a sour note To their idyllic plan. 'Cause when a car comes roaring by It showers the paint with sand. Elizabeth and her friends all know They'll need to finish soon. When the good light has moved away, They'll be painting the St. L. at noon! 5x5 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas • SOLD
