May 13 This morning, after coming home from my walk with the dogs, I walked down Congress to look back at the St. Lawrence Church and the bell tower one last time. What an extraordinary building. The dismantling preparations started yesterday & I knew that at the end of the day my studio muse would not look the same (my studio looks out on the church). In fact, as I type I can see the crane at work & hear the slate roof & debris being gathered. So goodbye for now, my dear friend. I hope to see you watching over the neighborhood again, in the not so distant future. I will donate a percentage of my daily painting sales for the next month to the rehabilitation of the Saint Lawrence.
