September 8 This is my painting I did for the "Beyond the Gates" project that will be on display starting Saturday, Sept 15th, at the North Star Cafe & then on to Casco Bay Frames & then City Hall. The East End Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Portland & it is very cool & inspiring! We own the oldest house on Munjoy Hill, from 1829, and the man who built it is buried there. I couldn't resist a nighttime scene of the gravestones & the Cemetery shed at the entrance--there's a quiet & mysterious mood that sets is over the cemetery once darkness hits.
