With the CRAZY amount of rain we had had over the
past month I go out of my way to find bursts of
color to brighten my day. Yesterday I was down at
the Farmers’ Market in the fog & drizzle &
the vibrant colors of the fresh produce, plants
& flowers was BEAUTIFUL and just what I needed.
I bought all kinds of yummy food & savored
every display. Here are some wildflowers sitting on
a table in front of many more plants. YEAH for
color!

& white striped lighthouse, Quoddy Head! Here
is a glimpse of the tip of the candycane lighthouse
from the trail walk we did. You can just see the

4 Cherries • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
I babysat my niece, Avery, yesterday & we
decided to do a cherries still life painting
together. We grabbed our cherries & headed up
to the studio. We got Avery’s paints & paper
ready & I told her to go ahead & paint the
cherries. I turned my back to get my own paints
together & when I turned around I found that
she had literally painted the cherries blue &
black!!! That cracked me up! After getting a good
chuckle, we washed them off & worked on our
paintings. FUN afternoon!

Hamilton Cove, Lubec • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
We had a gorgeous walk on the trails at Hamilton
Cove in Lubec and one of them brought us out onto
this beautiful rocky beach. You can see Grand Manan
Island, New Brunswick off in the distance. So
pretty & fun to revisit on yet another gloomy
... but NOT rainy ... day!

Schoodic Peninsula, Winter Harbor • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
On the way back from Lubec we stopped in Winter
Harbor to explore a little. We drove down a little
street that dead ended, revealing this spectacular
view ... we got out & walked on the rocks &
smelled the salt water air. I just love the pink
granite coast up that way and the trees &
islands. Anyone have a little piece of land up
there that they’d like to give an artist to build a
yurt on? I’d give you all of the
paintings you want!

A sunny morning ... I remember those! I went for a walk on the trails
at Gilsland Farm last week before setttling in
to paint in the field of peonies. I love this
view of the marsh at low tide. Maybe we’ll see
some sun & puffy clouds soon enough!

We did some great exploring while we were up in
Lubec ... and our drive up North Lubec Rd. was
sooooooo scenic. We stopped to admire this view of
this charming little island with Canada off in the

It’s a spectacular day here today & I think I
made the most of it! I walked down to the Old Port
& then to the Farmer’s Market, cleaned my
studio, had a delightful lunch with friends, walked
lots of pups & then sat in my studio &
painted a Lubec scene. Here’s a view from the
Quoddy Head trail we walked on--BEAUTIFUL! I just
love the rocky coast of Maine!

Peonies at Gilsland Farm • 8x10 • oil on canvas • $135
The morning turned gorgeous & I grabbed my
paints and headed over to Maine Audubon’s Gisland
Farm to check out the peony gardens. I wandered
around the grounds a bit & decided to set up at
the edge of a field of peonies. The peonies are
about to go into full bloom in the next couple of
days--the bulbs were bursting! I just liked looking
down the rows of flowers to the woods ... so many
greens!
